Summer Reflection

At the beginning of this course I was extremely worried, since I am not the best at navigating through social media platforms other than Facebook.  I also didn't know if my computer skills would become stronger since I have always found it difficult to navigate.  However, it didn't take long for me to feel comfortable with the direct guidance we have had since day one.


I expected to learn about the various social media platforms available.  I was not sure what all would entail in each site, which worried me.  I knew that we would make a page for a business we create so that was always clear in our plan and expected. 


I learned that there are far more social media platforms out there than just the most common such as Facebook and Twitter.  There were some sites I have never heard of that I may utilize in my future career.  I also learned how to appropriately and successfully use different social media sites to best represent not only my business, but myself. 


My favorite experience in this course was the blog posts that we did on a weekly basis.  I enjoyed the challenge of the different themes we had to incorporate into our postings.  I strongly believe it helped improve my creativity and engagement skills which is crucial in the marketing field.

Saturday Night Hot Chocolate Bar 

Tomorrow, November 19th is our Saturday Night Hot Chocolate Bar.  Toast the beginning of this cozy season with the staff and fellow neighbors in the Recreation Room at our Timberlake Apartment Location from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.  Knotz Landing tenants from all                                              of our surrounding locations are invited to this event.                                                                                                

There will be a wide range of mixes and toppings to make your own delicious 

drink while supplies last.  Please refrain from bringing any alcoholic beverages since those of all ages will be here to celebrate the snow.

No Shave November Employee Contest

Last but not least in our news is our update on our participating office staff's beards for our No Shave November contest!  There is only 12 days left to see who's beard has grown the longest! 

Will it be Ryan who wins?  Or will James catch up?  The winner will receive a new and much needed razor.

It's important to remember our goal in this No Shave November Contest, and that is to not only grow the most hair, but to grow awareness as well by embracing our hair which many cancer patients lose.  Both men have each donated $100 towards cancer research before beginning the competition.

Eau Claire is an amazing place to live!

As many already know, Knotz Landing is located in the heart of Eau Claire, WI.  We chose to be located here for all the obvious reasons, such as the amazing community, the beautiful trails, the endless amount of attractions or places to see.  We mean it when we say that this is a great place to call home.

LETS GET SPOOKY!

There's only three more days left until the judges come and decide who the big winner of our Halloween porch decorating contest is!  Remember, none of the staff at Knotz Landing will have any say in our favorites, we love them all too much!  The judges will be a few of the local business owners here in our community who have volunteered to join in on the fun.

Just like the years prior, we will have first, second, and third place winners.  Winners will all receive a gift card towards Festival Foods.  Third place will receive a $20 gift card, second place will receive a $40 gift card, and first place will receive a $60 gift card!  That's $120 worth of prizes we are so excited to give away to our wonderful tenants.  Let's make this the best Halloween yet, and LET'S GET SPOOKY!

A lot of you have asked if we are having treats and goodies in the office on the 31st.  We most definitely are!  You don't have to dress up to be a part of the fun either.  There will be hot apple cider, lots of spooky treats, and of course candy for the trick-or-treaters.  Make sure to stop and say hi!  Our staff is saving our best costumes to wear for the big day and we want to show them off, so make sure to come see us!

Bake & Rummage For a Cure!

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  We want to remind everyone of our 10th Annual Bake & Rummage For a Cure this Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 9:00am to 4:00pm.  Our charity event will be held again in the big lawn conveniently located next to our parking lot that will be open to the public for the day.

Knotz Landing's Bake & Rummage For a Cure has always been a huge turn out, but we're expecting an even bigger one yet!  We have already received more amazing donated items for this event than any year prior!  All of our staff will be out there working at the sale checkout and Treat Table.  If anyone has any last minute donations, just find one of our staff members and they will be happy to help.  You can't miss us, we'll be wearing all PINK!

Let's Raise Money For A Family In Need!

We have a family in need of escaping homelessness before winter begins.  Fiona Gallagher is a single mother in our community raising her three children; Phillip, Sam, and Debbie. When we heard this wonderful family needed help, all of us at Knotz Landing and Love II Sk8 wanted to help.  Love II Sk8 is a Midwestern independent board sales company that specializes in board and equipment sales, services, and professional training. 

On October 30, 2016, Love II Sk8 will be holding a 10% OFF store wide Halloween Sale/Charity Event on all goods with half of the proceeds going to the Gallagher family to make sure that their needs are met this winter.  Love II Sk8 is also donating three boards and safety gear to these well deserving kids! Knotz Landing is covering the cost of the security deposit and first months rent.

Don't forget to check out the amazing sale Love II Sk8 will be having October 30, 2016!  We appreciate your help and cannot wait to see the Gallagher's faces when they hear of the great people that came together to help make a warm and safe home for them a reality.
